Humiliated, I wanted to melt into obscurity amongst the fibres of our ugly pastel carpet. Submissively, I cleared the scrambled eggs not made to his liking. Hostile and full of my inadequacies, he ranted over my worthless contribution in making his life a success before sculling the arsenic-laced coffee.
